Ist Annual Lewis-Clark Train Show and Swap Meet

On March 25, 2012 the Lewis-Clark Train Show held their 1st Annual Lewis-Clark Train Show and Collectables Swap Meet at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds in Lewiston, Idaho.

The Lewis-Clark Train Club wishes to extend our deepest thanks to all of our sponsors; Happy Day Corporation, Owl Pharmacies, Jones Supply, K&K Consulting, Macullen's Restaurant, Lewis-Clark Valley Chamber of Commerce, Lewis-Clark State College and the 5th Division of the Pacific Northwest Region of the National Model Railroad Association.

We also wish to thank our nearly 800 visitors, over 50 vendors, Disney Model Designer Robert Olsecewski and the Nez Perce County Fair Board for taking this leap of faith with us in putting on a very successful first annual train show.

It took the LCTC membership better than a year of planning and hard work to get this first train show off the ground, it paid off handsomely. We had visitors from east of the Rocky Mountains to the salt water shores of Puget Sound and from Utah & California to the Canadian border. There were more than 50 vendors not only from the Pacific Northwest but one vendor traveled all the way from the Lone Star State of Texas, we appreciate each and every single one of you for coming, thank you!

Take a look below to see some pictures of how things came along  while we were preparing for this train show.

Lee Knapp and Dennis Munger are working on a module of the LCTC HO-Scale Layout while Russ McPherson is in the background on the phone trying to locate parts.

Mike McGee is trying to get an eagle eye bead on the tracks at the end of the 8 foot long HO-Scale bridge that was built by Russ McPherson.

At a little more than 30,000 square feet we have a big space to fill, but fill it we did.

Saturday night before the train show, the River City Modelers from Spokane Clinic Table is just about set up, we sure hope folks show up in the morning.

The LCTC Information booth is just about ready to greet folks as they come through the door in the morning.

The LCTC HO-Scale layout is all leveled up, plugged in and ready to run trains.

LCTC Roadmaster Dan Wise (in yellow hat) is supervising the operation of our N-Scale layout and talking to one of the visitors at the train show.

Special Assistant to the LCTC President and to all of the Lewis-Clark Train Club, Donna Saastamoinen is caught taking a very well deserved break. Thank you for all you do Donna, we really appreciate it.

The house filling up fast, this is a good sign.

A pair of trains are meeting on the 8' long HO-Scale bridge built by Russ McPherson.

The tell tale sign of a good train show, a beautiful day and a full parking lot.

You are never too young to get into model railroading.

Before there was Hi-Rail vehicles, track maintenance workers and track inspectors used these vehicles known as "Speeders". These Speeders were brought to the train show for display by Steve Taulbee of Lewiston, ID.

The look on this young mans face looking over our N-Scale layout says it all. This makes all of the hard work and planning for over a year well worth it.
